Time and tide really waits for no man. Before we know it, 2022 will zoom past in a couple of week’s time. 😱
Always a good time to take stock of things that happen, reflect on the things and plan that we set out at the start of the year. Be thankful (that we still have a job, alive and kicking) and count our blessings for the things we have.
For me? What other way than to close the year with a year-end trip to reward and give a pat on my shoulder for the job well done.
I am happy and fortunate to be able to walk past the departure gate once more to close off the year 2022.

This will be another relaxation trip with no specific agenda (follow your heart type of trip, 跟着感觉走). Just chill and come what may. 😊

Enjoying a light meal at SilverKris Lounge. My favourite part of travel. 😀

Time to depart for the Land of Smiles.

Sit back, relax, and enjoy the flight.

Cheers to good health. I’m glad to know that champagne serving is back again.

Savouring a nice beef steak lunch on board.

Safe arrival to Suvarnabhumi Airport as scheduled.
Upon immigration and baggage clearance. Time to head off to Sukhumvit MRT station. You may refer to my previous blog on how to train from Suvarnabhumi Airport in a hassle free and economical way.

I will be staying over at Grande Centrepoint Terminal 21 for the next 6 nights.

This hotel is conveniently located right beside Terminal 21 Shopping Mall and Asok BTS Station.

Wow. I loved the layout and size of the room. Very clean and spacious.

After checking in to the hotel, I decided to spend the rest of the evening at Terminal 21 and soak into the festivities’ mood here.

Enjoying light street snacks at the Food Bazaar in the basement of Terminal 21.

Thereafter, headed over to Robinson for a quick round-off before calling it a night.

Happy feet happy man. Nothing beats a good foot reflexology at the end of a day. A must do activity when in Bangkok. Strictly no compromise!

Waking up and being greeted by a beautiful morning view from my hotel room.

Look what I see 😱 Wonderland Bangkok, a luxurious cannabis store in Sukhumvit soi 5. OMG, this is what legalisation means. 😂

Holy Mary! Mary Jane Cannabis Dispensary. They are so easily accessible and you can almost find one near you.

Visited Central Embassy next for window shopping.

How I love the beautiful decoration on the link bridge between Central Embassy and Central. It gives one the festivities feel of floating happiness from the year 2022 right through to 2023.

Came across Central Food Hall and could resist the food temptation and had to succumb to it.

This is spicily tasty and delicious. Really whet your appetite.

Tastes like mama noodles that I used to like. Something unique and different but equally good.

Taro Pie from DonQ. Taro lovers will bound to love it for sure.

So cute….. World Cup Cupcakes 👍👍👍

Venture off to centralwOrld next as this is part of the shopping trail.

Settle for a quick lunch at centralwOrld food Hall before continuing with the retail therapy.

My all-time favourite pistachio bar cake. It has a nice strawberry jam filling with white chocolate coating. Heavenly is all I can say. ☺️

Yuzu House sells all kinds of Yuzu-licious items, and I will make it a point to drop by whenever I am able to do so.

Enjoying a refreshingly cold-pressed Japanese yuzu juice with yuzu peels to perk me up after a day of retail shopping.

Moving on next to Siam Square One in search of GentleWoman flagship store.

This is it. The long awaited search. This seems to be the in-thing now where everyone is seen to carry one such bag from GentleWomen. OMG! This flagship store is 4 levels high and ranging from apparel, bags, to household items.

Savouring a seafoodilicious dinner at Peppery Thai Bistro in Siam Paragon.

Large prawns with local mushrooms in tom yum rich broth with coconut milk, chilli, lemongrass and lime leaf served in hotpot.

Premium jumbo blue crab meat seasoned with house sauce then wok-seared with spicy prawn paste.

Delicately steamed white sea bass fillet with abundant of chilli, garlic and lime sauce.
Super awesome seafood meal. 👍👍👍😋😋😋

Enjoying complimentary refreshment (coffee, tea, ice cold water, and fruit punch) at the hotel lobby prior to the start of another new day. You may be pleased to know that passbys of the hotel can also help themselves to the complimentary refreshment as a form of Thai hospitality. 👍

My long awaited breakfast at Rung Rueang Pork Noodles.

Their noodles are just so good that you will spot a steady stream of customers packing the place.

Went over to % Arabica at UOB Bank Bangkok outlet, which is near Rung Rueang Pork Noodle for my caffeine fix.

Their coffee is really fragrant and good, not to mention the Canelé and the pricing too. 😊

Venture over to Emporium to start off today’s retail therapy. 😲

Crossing over to EM Quartier next as part of the usual ritual. 🤣

Chanced upon UOB Infinite Lounge on Level 1 of Helix Quartier and decided to check it out. UOB Infinite Card Holder will be pleased to know that you may enjoy the lounge benefits here by flashing your card here and you are able to enjoy free light snacks sets for up to 2 person. Wow wow wow…..

Relax and chill with a bottle of ice cold water while waiting for the hot meal to be served.

This came as a pleasant surprise to me. You can get to enjoy free light snacks and at the same time have a cozy and nice place to rest your feet. What more can I ask. 😊

Great time snacking on their local sweet dessert.
Look what I found! Yes, Café Kitsuné by Paris in EM Quartier.

OMG, this famous French-Japanese chain that makes its debut in Capitol Singapore has driven crowds of people to the café. This is the latest craze happening now.

Here, I can enjoy it without the crowds and at a much lower cost compared back home. Woohoo…

Chanced upon a new café, Ksana Matcha located at One City Centre near Phloen Chit BTS Station, a Matcha specialist and importer delivering the finest ceremonial grade matcha directly from Uji, Kyoto.

A cave themed café that serves ceremonial and premium grade matcha paired with equally pretty Japanese Wagashi.

Top-of-the-line matcha, offering an exceptional umami flavour, a balanced yet complex taste, and a refreshing, clean aroma without any bitterness. This ceremonial grade matcha promises an exceptional experience.

The high-end hojicha, made from extraordinary tencha typically used for making ceremonial grade matcha, slowly roasted to preserve the umami flavours while bringing out the most distinctive smoky aromas of charcoal and hickory wood. This is how it earned the nickname “roasted matcha”.

The premium matcha, offering a rich umami flavour and packed with green and vegetal taste. With its distinct and strong character, along with a hint of chocolate-like bitterness, this product can become your everyday favourite.

Nerikiri, Edo-era wagashi kneaded from white bean paste, red beans and rice mochi by heritage craftmen for special ceremonial occasions. Kinyokukan, refreshing wagashi from the Edo-era made of Japanese jelly mixed with refreshing yuzu layered on high quality Yokan.

Made an intended visit to Duck Donuts which recently made its debut at Bangkok Siam Discovery on Level M.

You will get to enjoy warm, delicious and made to order donuts here. 😋

Blueberry icing with maple drizzle and powered sugar. Yum yum……😋😋😋

Decided to have dinner at Hono Teppanyaki at Terminal 21 Shopping Mall.

This entire meal is really value for money and cost me THB915. Best of all, it is deliciously good too. 😋😋😋

It’s time again for a good foot reflexology after a full day walk before calling it a night.
I am already into Day 4 of my trip before I know it. I will be spending my time at Icon Siam for today.
Instead of travelling to Saphan Taksin BTS Station and taking a free river shuttle for the grand arrival entrance to Icon Siam, which I normally do. I have decided this time round to train to Icon Siam instead.
How to go to Icon Siam via train?
Instead of alighting at Saphan Taksin BTS Station (S6), you now alight at Krung Thonburi BTS Station (S7), one station after Saphan Taksin Station.

Upon arrival, head towards exit 3 in the direction to Icon Siam.

Follow the directional sign guiding you towards the skytrain gold line station.

Thereafter, board the skytrain gold line at Krung Thonburi G1 Station and take a stop to Charoen Nakhon, G2 Station which is right beside Icon Siam. Fuss free and convenient too. 😊

After exiting the station gantry, you will immediately see the Icon Siam entrance. Though not arriving in grand style but we still get there. 😃

Upon reaching, charged over to the Food Bazaar to get my food fix.

It is certainly satisfying to start my day. Good food, as always. 👍👍👍

Catching a quick late lunch at James Boulangerie.

Served with mashed potato and grilled vegetable. Power is all I can say. 😎

Spicy seafood pasta dish, fusion of Italian and Thai. Fiery hot. Definitely not for the weak-hearted. 😂

A tender sweetness of Original Kouign Amann meets Belgian dark chocolate that gives you a perfect combination of flavour. 😋😋😋

Beautiful view of the Chao Phraya River taken from the restaurant outdoor area.

When in Icon Siam, it is a must to pay homage to % Arabica as this is their flagship store in Thailand.

I simply loved their minimalist store decoration.

As usual, great pastry and good coffee. Always ever ready to go for it.

Since I am here for the entire day, might as well settle my dinner at Laem Charoen Seafood.

Oh mine! This is forever so deliciously good. Generous chunks of crab meats served for a fraction of the price. 👍

Holy basil-ly good for sure. 😋😋

Woo…foot long toro fries… looks interesting, but too bad I am not able to accommodate. Guess will need to take a rain check for now. 😂

I always make it a point to have breakfast in McDonald’s when I can in Bangkok.

Now you understand why I like to do so? These are the items you do not get to have back home. 😊
Thereafter, make a visit to Chinatown Bangkok.

How to go to Chinatown Bangkok?
Take the Blue MRT Line to Hua Lamphong Station, look for Exit 1, and take a short walk from there.

Wat Traimit (Golden Buddha), an ancient Royal temple famous for the enormous gold Buddha image it houses in the Chinatown area of Bangkok.

Typical sight of the street along Yaowarat Chinatown.

Spotted this food cart on a small street alley, and there is no prize in guessing what happen next. 🤣

Enjoying a delicious bowl of minced pork noodle. 😋

Happen to chance upon this interesting Thai-Japanese bridge near Silom MRT Station. This Memorial Bridge is a bascule bridge over the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok, Thailand, connecting the districts of Phra Nakhon and Thonburi.

Having mangolicious sweet treats at Yenly Yours.

Stopping by at On the Table for lunch at Silom Shopping Plaza.

This is a Tokyo café-style restaurant that serves up homemade dishes that deliver a warm concept of “Happiness is on the Table.”

Thai-style deep fried baguette with minced pork. This is really tasty and similar to the Hong Kong-style shrimp toast.

Crust is as thin as biscuit and tastes good too.

Another power dish. 👍 Good mix of curry spice coupled with the crispiness of the tender chicken meat.
Highly recommended for casual dining.

Half-time break at Fuku Matcha. Have come across it so many times and thought I should check it out.

A new drink item on the menu but comes in the sweeten form.

This is their signature drink and is damn good. A must try for first-timer.

Shortlisted Piri Piri for dinner after much struggling with choices. 🤣

Oh mine, this is fiery delicious. Yum yum yum. Good choice on selection. 😀😀 Another meal settled. 😉
Starting off with a morning breakfast at Dean & Deluca.

We used to have it back home, but the outlets have all been closed since. I always enjoy the food here.

Smoked ham, parma ham, cheddar, emmental, parsley, sourdough bread, pickled cucumber and coleslaw. This really blow my mind off.

Woh woh woh, this is another pastry gem!
While at Gaysorn Village, happen to come across Nabezo and took a quick glance on their menu.

They offer a couple of special lunch courses at reasonable pricing and thus decided to give it a try.
Ordered one set of their X-Wagyu and Kurabuta Sukiyai Course

This meal is really good and satisfying. Glad that I checked it out.

More grocery shopping after a good meal.

Food glorious food. OMG!

This is the biggest flagship Starbucks Reserve Store on Level 1 centralwOrld and is the world’s second largest Starbucks Store. I would make it a point to drop by whenever possible.

Only this outlet has draft coffee and tea on tap. How interesting.

Oh mine, this is extremely smooth with every gulp. 👍

Beautiful light up at centralwOrld. You will get to see many of such beautiful decorations at every shopping mall in Bangkok during this festive period where people are seen to be in a huge celebrative mood.

At long last, I managed to get my hands on Kub Kao Kub Pla. I have been seeing this restaurant chain many times while in Bangkok, and I finally decided to give it a go for this trip of mine. 😀

Look at the chunks of crab meat once you cut it up. No wonder this is one of their signature dishes.

You can never go wrong with their deep fried sea bass in Bangkok, and it goes real well with the mango salad.

This is another champion dish and, in my opinion, a must order dish. No regrets. Just trust me on this!

With the above dishes, what you need will be none other than a bowl of steaming hot Thai Jasmine rice to go with it. 😋😋😋

One for the road foot massage. I will surely miss this. An incentive for the tired feet.

Final day local food craving fix at Pier 21 Food Court.

Awesomely satisfying and the whole meal costs just THB175. 😱 Value for money a.k.a. cheap and good 👍👍👍!
With a good fix, it’s now time to check out of the hotel. After leaving luggage at the concierge, I took a leisure stroll to EM Quartier to spend some time before heading off to the airport.

Having a fun time at HBD Market fair at EM Quartier to feel the festive mood for the last time prior to home coming.

While at Glass Quartier, caught hold of Mil Toast House, a Korean bread shop that sells only brioche buns. This bread shop is new to Bangkok and needless to say, have to walk in and experience it for myself.

Ordered their plain steamed brioche buns that come with cream butter and marmalade jam with add-on pandan custard. The buns are so damn good and soft. Really power sial! Prices are also power as well. 🤣

Their recommended hot strawberry tea. This is something unique and refreshing. The tea comes with chunks of 🍓 🍓 🍓.

In words of fairness, it will still be worth a visit if you are a true blue breaddy person.

Chilling and enjoying the free facilities at UOB Infinite Lounge since I have some time to kill before heading back to the hotel.

Quality snacks and drinks just like having us as a valued quality customers. 😀😲😉

Time for home coming. 😲 7D6N just went past when I was having a great time.

Glad to know that SilverKris Lounge in Bangkok is finally receiving guests again. Woohoo……

Look at the wide selection of food. Always impressed with it in SilverKris Lounge Bangkok.

Bye-bye Bangkok for now, and I hope to be back again soon.

Cheers to good health as always and wishing myself a safe flight home. ☺️

Enjoying sky dining dinner on board. This is what life should be all about. Till the next trip. See ya!
