Kopi Tiam @ Swissotel The Stamford

This is the high end type KPT compared to neighbourhood KPT.

I always wonder why would people pay through their nose to dine in this place where they can enjoy the same type of local food delicacy at a fraction of the cost.

To site an example, a plate of char kway teow cost you $18 while the same cost $3 in a neighbourhood KPT. Almost 6 times of the price.

Guess this is like travelling in a business class versus that of an economy class. 😁

Hainanese Pork Chop

Wontan Noodle

Nasi Lemak with Curry Chicken

Mee Goreng

Char Kway Teow

I must agree that their food quality served is of certain standard.

In addition, they serve pretty good decent desserts too.

Yam Paste with Ginko Nuts

Glutinous Rice Ball aka Tang Yuan

Banana Fritters with Vanilla Ice Cream

Anyway, I had the privilege to step in and try for myself. There is a promotion for AMEX platinum card members on weekdays from Mondays to Thursday to enjoy a 50% discount for dinner. On top of that I had a Far Card voucher for the amount of $70 which I can use to offset for the food bill.

Quality of the food is different obviously but I must say that the Yam paste is one of the best that I had. The paste is extremely smooth and taste so good.

This is one of those high life dining where you want to look good and feel good type. Overall, ambience is great which I must admit.

It is your choice whether you want to give it a shot and experience it for yourself. At times, it might be a good idea to burn your pocket once a while to pamper & reward yourself for the hard work you put in.

Let me know your experience after you have tried it.
