Chura Sushi Bar @ Suntec City

There are more and more sushi joints that one can explore and find. I reckon that this is partly due to the pent up demand for Japanese cuisine since travelling to Japan is now not easily viable in view of the current travel restriction. 🤣

One such joint, Chura Sushi Bar has made its appearance of late. I must agree that this restaurant focuses a fair bit on plating presentation which gives diners a great visual dining experience.

Chura Ladies’ Set

Comprise of 6 pcs of Temari Sushi. You get to enjoy 6 different kinds of sushi balls – salmon, tuna, Japanese scallop, salmon roe, spear squid and amberjack served with a mini udon and 3 kinds of appetizer; salmon skin, truffle edaname and deep-fried camembert cheese dice. Ain’t the visual plating captivating?

Miyazaki Wagyu with Uni and Caviar

The miyazaki wagyu, sea urchin and salt-cured roe just melts right down with each mouthful. This is certainly heavenly. 😋😋

Bara Chirashi

Comes with akami, shiro maguro zuke, salmon, sushi ebi, tamago yaki, ikura, snow peas, Japanese cucumber, Japanese lily bulb, marinated lotus root, edible flower, sakura denbu. What a beautiful piece of colourful food art!

Truffle Unagi and Foie Gras Roll

Unagi and foie gras sushi roll topped with crispy tempura bits and drizzled with balsamic truffle mayo. The sushi rolls are huge in size literally. 😉

There are more eye-catching dishes which you can try them out too.

Needless to say, they do offer the usual suspects as you would have guessed correctly as follows.

Kampuchi Sashimi

Fresh amberjack as it is expected and importantly, it is reasonably priced. 😉

Agedashi Tofu

Deep fried silken tofu served with grated radish, grated ginger and spring onion. This is one of those better ones that I have had.

Ika Karaage

Deep-fried Japanese squid, served with lemon, mayonnaise and shichimi. Succulently delicious.

Fried Chicken Wasabi

Marinated fried chicken coated with special sauce and served with grated Hokkaido mountain horseradish. A different dish you would have expect from a karaage. It’s a love or hate type of dish in my opinion.

Definitely a place I would recommend for visual eye candy and for a quick sushi fix anytime….
